How Playfeed works
Playfeed finds Steam games you'll actually like. Game search and new releases work without an account. Connect Steam and it also ranks new games against what you play, and picks something from the games you already own.
Game search
The search box takes two kinds of question.
- Name a game you loved. You get its Games like list: games ranked by how close they really are, what they're about and how they play, not by sales. The closest matches come first, then “Also worth a look”: games that share some of the same DNA but are further from the original.
- Describe what you're in the mood for, like “co-op chaos with friends” or “outer wilds but underwater”. You get games that match the description, read from what the games are about, not just their tags.
- Narrow it down with Released, Price, Must have and Exclude. Released and Price are remembered for next time.
- Keep going: “More like this” on any card opens that game's own list, and the Games tab takes you back to your last search.
New releases
- All launches: every game released on Steam today, this week or this month. Sort by newest or most reviewed, filter by tags, price, reviews and Early Access, and see what's launching soon. No account needed.
- For you (with Steam connected): the launches from the last 30 days, ranked by how close they are to the games you actually play. Each card says why, like “Because you play Hades”.
Play tonight
For the games you already own but never really started (under 2 hours played). Play tonight picks one, matched to what you do play, so your backlog gets a turn before you buy something new. Needs Steam connected.
- How long have you got? Quick session, An evening or Something long. It's a rough guess from each game's Steam tags.
- Indie or not: narrow it to indie games, or leave them out.
- Not tonight puts a game away until tomorrow on this device. Not for me hides it for good.
Your taste
What Playfeed thinks you like, worked out from the hours you've put into each game. It's what For you and Play tonight rank against, and you can change it.
- Your games: untick the ones you never want more of. A game you played for a friend, or one you left running, shouldn't shape your picks.
- Edit taste: add interests you want more of, or mute tags you're tired of.
- Changes apply straight away. Re-sync pulls your latest library from Steam, up to once an hour.
Connecting Steam
Connecting uses Steam's own sign-in, so you never type your password here. Playfeed only reads what your profile already shows publicly: your games and how long you've played them. Your Steam game details need to be public for that. You can delete everything in two clicks. What Playfeed knows about you
